Every summer, students from around the world come to Traverse City, Michigan through the J1 Work and Travel Program to live, work, and explore life in the U.S.

At the same time, American college students from across the Midwest come to Traverse City for summer mission and outreach—eager to welcome new friends, serve the community, and grow in their faith.

That’s where J1TC (J1 Traverse City) comes in. J1TC is a vibrant, welcoming community where J1 visa students and American students come together for food, friendship, cultural exchange, and fun.

We know being in a new country can feel overwhelming. You might feel excited, nervous, homesick, or curious. J1TC exists to help you feel at home. J1TC offers a space to build relationships, learn from one another, and share life together.

At J1TC, we offer:
